A private family in London is seeking a professional, reliable and proactive Houseman/Cook to join their household on a full-time, live-out basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for either a junior or senior candidate with solid private household experience who enjoys combining cooking with hands-on housekeeping and general household support. The family is not necessarily looking for a traditional Butler, but rather a versatile and dedicated individual who is comfortable working across a range of household duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing fresh, healthy meals for the family, with a particular focus on Mediterranean cuisine

  • Experience with European cuisine, particularly Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, would be highly desirable

  • Assisting with general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying and maintaining the household to a high standard

  • Supporting with general household tasks and basic maintenance as required

  • Working closely and collaboratively with the existing household staff

  • Being flexible and willing to assist wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of the household

  • Being available for  international travel with the family

  • Helping care for the family dog

  • General handyman tasks such as changing light bulbs etc

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a private household is essential, with proven longevity in previous roles

  • Professional cooking experience, ideally with Mediterranean/European cuisine

  • Fluent English

  • Valid UK driving licence

  • Valid UK or EU passport and the right to work in the UK

  • Reliable, discreet and professional manner

  • Proactive, flexible and hands-on approach

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

  • Ability to work independently as well as as part of an established household team

  • Willingness to travel internationally with the family for extended periods-4 to 5 weeks at a time
