The creation of nanny housekeepers was mainly caused by the spiralling costs of employing two individuals. Employers realised that nannies were underemployed while children were attending school because a fully-qualified nanny will not agree to undertake housework unless it specifically related to the children (e.g. cleaning and tidying their rooms and washing their clothes).

Consequently, those undertaking the combined role are likely to be experienced housekeepers who, whilst not being nannies by educational qualification, have brought up children of their own and, in doing so, gained a hugely valuable knowledge that text books alone cannot compete with.

Our candidates tend to be in their 30s, 40s and 50s. This gives us plenty of scope for checking references (the majority of which we do by telephone) and gives our clients the comfort of knowing they have an experienced person at their side. If the client wishes, a Criminal Records Bureau check can also be carried out.

Our recruitment consultants are parents too and understand the concerns clients have when faced with the prospect of leaving their children in others' hands. That is why they take time to listen carefully to clients' needs in order to form a picture of the type of candidate who will fit in well with the family.

In the unlikely event you are dissatisfied with your choice in the first 10 weeks of employment, we are happy to replace your nanny housekeeper free of charge; subject to our terms of business.
